Serving Our Community

Serving Our Community - 02Having built a multi-million dollar corporation that even in tough times is profitable and growing, VDI is committed to giving back to our community in good times and bad. Here are a few of our activities that we have been involved in:

VDI-SchoolComputers.com

VDI works with low-income schools to provide computer equipment to students in need. We have spent thousands of dollars purchasing computer equipment, refurbishing donated equipment, and installing and configuring equipment for schools and children. This is an ongoing program that is always looking for good used equipment. If your company does a tech refresh and would like to donate any new or used equipment, contact VDI at 713.776.3237.

Toys for Tots

VDI kicked off our Toys-For-Tots program on December 21, 2006 with a bang, holding an appreciation event where we purchased and collected toys to donate. We then presented The Children’s Cancer Hospital at MD Anderson with three truckloads of toys. In February of 2007, VDI was recognized in Build Houston Magazine for our efforts for Toys-for-Tots. If you would like to donate toys, please call and let us know. We take donations year round. We will happily come to you for pickup and store them in our warehouse until the next donation event.

Big Brothers Big Sisters

Kids need us more than ever, especially in a single parent household. VDI employees have mentored ‘at-risk’? teens since before VDI Communications, Inc. existed. When John Ortega (the President and CEO of the Houston Business Bank), who is a strong supporter of the program, approached VDI about donating to the Big Brothers Big Sisters Golf Tournament, we jumped at the opportunity. If you would like to donate or volunteer please visit the website at http://www.gobighouston.org/ or call John Ortega at 713-629-2805.

Local Children’s Sports Teams

VDI Sponsors little league teams each year. We feel sports are an incredibly healthy outlet for kids that have too many bad influences in society today. If you have a sports team that needs sponsoring please give us a call with the details.

MDA (Jerry’s Kids)

VDI’s team worked the phone bank and appeared on local TV accepting donations. The event was televised from the Marriott Westchase Hotel. We also helped setup the phone bank in preparation for the event. If you are interested in donating time or money, please visit their website at www.mda.org.

Every year we look for opportunities to dedicate our time, donate money, and provide computer equipment to those in need. If you would like to help, donate, or inform us about areas of need that we might address, contact us at (713) 776 3237 and ask to speak to Del Bullion.
